  1. Strange. I don't know of any Morning glories (Ipomoea) with this hairy surface! Do you have photos of the leaves or open flower?
I'm thinking this could be something in the Gourd family like Coccinea sp.? The Ivy Gourd (Coccinia grandis) is in your area, but I'll have to look into a bit further.

    Maybe I'm completely wrong! :D

    1. Lisa, I took this picture in early morning before sunshine whilst I was just passing by during a morning walk. I was not so sure either about the ID as no bloom flower was found on that time. However rather than leaving an empty title so I just put the name of moonflower (only guessed). If the the title was wrong perhaps anyone could correct it. I used to bring camera during the morning exercise/walk n I take some shots whenever meet flowers or insects on my way. Posted 5 years ago
      1. :) I've just never seen a hairy morning glory. There very well may be some in your area that I'm unaware of. The world is a wild place! I'd love to see more photos of the leaves and flower (maybe even the underside) if you pass this on your walk again! Posted 5 years ago
      2. Sugian, if you're really unsure what it is, a descriptive title is better than guessing the species. For example, you could describe it in the title:

        "White five petal flower, Indonesia"

That describes what's on the photo, and is useful. Yet if you put a guessed species in the title:

        - People using "search" for that species will still end up at your post, whilst it may not actually show the species. So it could be misleading (unless you guessed correctly)
        - You force us moderators to keep correcting it. Our time is not free, we are volunteers.

So please don't guess without any basic checks done. It only creates extra work. Please do one of the following:

        1. If really unsure or if no check done, describe what is on the photo yet put no species name in it.

        Or....

        2. If you have a theory about a species name, do put it in the title. Yet at least do a basic visual and distribution check.

Please do not let this discourage you, we're here to help yet want to avoid creating needless work that can easily be avoided. Let me know if you have any questions.
