American pika on lookout
These fuzzy little bunny like creatures may be facing troubles in other areas, but around here, it appears they have found ways to thrive. They can still be found in abundance, even at lower elevations where summer days may be hotter than they can tolerate well.

The American pika , a diurnal species of pika, is found in the mountains of western North America, usually in boulder fields at or above the tree line. They are herbivorous, smaller relatives of rabbits and hares.
