From this angle you can see how much their legs are folded up when sitting in trees. When unfolded, they are capable of incredible jumps, up to 10m in distance. It is this optimization for vertical leaps and life in trees that causes their weird and famous ground level locomotion seen here:

Verreaux's sifaka, or the white sifaka, is a medium sized primate in one of the lemur families, Indriidae. It lives in Madagascar and can be found in a variety of habitats from rainforest to western Madagascar dry deciduous forests and dry and spiny forests.
