Echinussa sp., Antananarivo, Madagascar
Opening our Madagascar 2019 set, I'll be using this tag:
991Madagascar 2019
This was found on our doorstep whilst still in the hotel at Antananarivo. It's tiny (6mm) and didn't really cooperate in posing. Genus is likely Echinussa, which only contains 3 species that all occur in Madagascar. Unfortunately, I'm not able to find any good info on any of these species.
The thorax and abdomen have a beautiful iridescent glow, whilst the legs seem colorless, almost transparent, except for the front legs. The eyes have a clear orange outline.
