        I love it when this genus allows for close interaction! <3 One of my favorite moth experiences:
        Snowberry Clearwing (Hemaris diffinis) Resting on Cyperus sp., but was initially nectaring on Buttonweed (Diodia virginiana). This was photographed after the sunshine came out after a long week of heavy rains!<br /> <br /> The Snowberry Clearwing is a hummingbird mimic and even emits a similar "humming" noise whilst beating its wings. One of the proposed reasons for this mimicry is the avoidance of predation by insectivorous birds.
