Water Boatman - Hesperocorixa sp. This was an unexpected visitor to my moth light! Water boatmen are soft-bodied, aquatic insects that live in ponds. Adults may appear at lights at night as they move from pond to pond. But, I have never seen one at my light before!<br /> <br /> Habitat: Attracted to a black light in a semi-rural area. This was an unexpected visitor to my moth light! Water boatmen are soft-bodied, aquatic insects that live in ponds. Adults may appear at lights at night as they move from pond to pond. But, I have never seen one at my light before!

Habitat: Attracted to a black light in a semi-rural area. There are no nearby ponds, but there is a wetland in back of where I live.
