An acorn found on the forest floor in the process of germinating, which for oak species may take between 6 and 24 months. It's quite incredible how this little nut may grow into a tree up to a few dozens tons in weight. And not just that, also to be a pinnacle of life where it provides shelter and food for countless other life forms. Here's a cool timelapse of an acorn maturing:
