Beautiful Wood-Nymph - Eudryas grata
One of my favorite species! And it was kind enough to actually land on my white poster board, unlike most other moths who prefer to rest in the hard to reach areas of my deck. This moth was part of a pair...I'm not sure if they were male/female, but they appeared to enjoy each other's company.
This moth resembles the pearly wood-nymph, except that the subterminal area is darker red with yellow-green edging. The subterminal line is evenly curved. Approximately 25 mm long.
Habitat: Attracted to a black light in a semi-rural area. Lures: Petunias

''Eudryas grata'' is a moth known as the beautiful wood nymph. The caterpillars are known to feed on the Virginia creeper .
