North American Deer Mouse (Peromyscus sp.)? I came across this strange sight yesterday morning, a mouse sitting in my driveway (in the rain) at the disturbed edge of a dense mixed forest. It was shivering, and it appeared weak. I left it to its own devices (as I&#039;m not one to disturb wildlife...and I honestly have a bit of a rodent phobia). I went back to the spot a few hours later, and the mouse was gone.<br />
