  1. I'm pretty sure this is old T. gibbosa. T. elegans does not occur in the U.S.

    T. gibbosa and T. aesculi are often misidentified as T. elegans.

"Trametes gibbosa" is a polypore mushroom that causes a white rot. It is found on beech stumps and the dead wood of other hardwood species.
