Behind the Whaletown Post Office! A short, 30- 35 meter, walk across the road from our house is the Whaletown Post Office. The post office, purportedly the smallest free standing post office in Canada, sits on a moss covered rock that is on the edge of Whaletown Bay. In the moss behind the building itself are quite a variety of Spring flowers. From top left and going clockwise; Collinsia parviflora (Blue-eyed Mary), Erythranthe alsinoides (Little Monkeyflower), Hyacinthoides non-scripta (Bluebells) and Plectritis congesta (Seablush) and this is only the beginning! 2. So beautiful! Can you add a picture of the post office as scenery picture-habitat associated to these flora? Posted 6 years ago
    1. Thank you! It is a sunny day here today so I will try and get a photo of the “back yard” of our post office. I do have an aerial shot that I took with a small quadcopter a few years ago that I may post as well. Posted 6 years ago
    2. Hello, does this “post” fill the bill?
The Whaletown Post Office and Whaletown Bay The top photo was taken from a video shot from a small quadcopter in May 2015 at low tide, the rest of the photos in the montage were taken today. The post office is the green roofed building on the lower left in the aerial photo. Walking around the right side as you look at the PO from the road the moss covered rocks can be seen and at this time of year a place to admire the wild flowers. Out of interest our house is hidden amongst the trees right above and to the left of the post office. Canada,Geotagged
