Lepanthes filamentosa - closeup, Rio Ñambi, Colombia To make it to our lodge in the middle of the Rio &Ntilde;ambi forest, we had to hike a 2km trail, which was more like 4km. This cloud forest is dark and so slimy that it feels like walking on soap. Ideal lepanthes territory. This one is large for a lepanthes, at 1.5cm.<br />

  1. Isn’t it amazing that such gorgeous plants can survive in such a dark forest?! Posted 6 years ago
    1. Absolutely! To the human eye this forest is dark, but not as dark as the photo suggests. I needed the f/18 to cover the depth of field so that makes the background pitch black. Plus, I added drama, with extra contrast. Posted 6 years ago
