Colorful Phasmid, La Planada Nature Reserve, Colombia Here's the last observation from our visit to La Planada Nature Reserve, which spanned one afternoon and night, a full day, and a morning.

Wrapping up the location:

A gorgeous forest with major elevation changes, yet relatively easy and accessible paths. Conditions are extremely wet and misty (50% more rainfall than the average of Colombia, with Colombia being the wettest country in the world). Despite challenging conditions, we squeezed a lot of observations out of this place:

- About 20 birds, with two major highlights: hoary puffleg and plate-billed mountain toucan
- Miniature orchids in the wild and several more in the orchid research garden
- Two highly productive moth nights
- Several butterflies found on wider, open paths
- Some frogs, surely there are many more here, we didn't focus much on it

By contrast, we were not that productive in general macro/insect observations as well as fungi, as there's not much opportunity to go off-path, given the steep terrain.
