A Lichen A lichen, possibly in the Stictidaceae, growing on the trunk of a Black Ash (Fraxinus nigra) in a swamp. Most of the perithecia are still emerging but the few that have (one has emerged in the right) and resemble those in photos of Stictis and Julella but these are not the only genera possible.
