  1. I'm not 100 percent sure, but the thickness/morphology of the shelf and the pores here look more consistent with something like T. lactinea. See my observation here:

    This species has been found in Taiwan, so maybe it wouldn't be too far-fetched if it were found in Australia as well? If you are on iNaturalist, tag pucak . She may be able to help with this one.

    As for this being T. modesta (now called Ranadivia modesta), I'm really not sure. How thick/sturdy was this specimen? Because from what I'm seeing in R. modesta specimens, they are quite flimsy compared to many Trametes- and the pseudostem at their bases is fairly pronounced. What do you think?

A polypore (poroid) bracket fungus, Trametes modesta is a mushroom species which was first described by Kunze ex Fr., and got its current name from Leif Ryvarden in 1972. Trametes modesta is included in the genus Trametes and the Polyporaceae family. No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life.
