Anthurium andraeanum, La Planada Nature Reserve, Colombia

One day after this photo, we saw two guys on a motorcycle speeding out of the exit of La Planada Nature Reserve. The guy on the backseat had a bush full of these flowers in his hand, stolen from the forest.

Upon mentioning this to staff, they didn't even see it as abnormal behavior. Such is the quality of "conservation" in several parks in Colombia, not even within protected zones does anybody seem to care. It makes you lose all hope.
