  1. This might be Reynoutria japonica (aka Fallopia japonica and Polygonum cuspidatum) the Japanese Knotweed.

    1. You're so right! Thanks so much, Gary! Ugh, I hate that I'm still so clueless with plants...I've seen this one before while it was still green and had it correctly identified. Yet, didn't manage to connect the dots that this brown one was the same thing:
