  1. This looks something like a purple fungus I saw last year on aspen logs. have to wait for the snow to melt before I can see them again. Posted 6 years ago
    1. Oh, cool! It's very common here. I hope you find it...and, I hope that your snow melts soon! We are down to about 6 inches in the forests of the NW corner of CT. Posted 6 years ago

"Trichaptum biforme" is a species of poroid fungus in the order Hymenochaetales. It is a saprobe that decomposes hardwood stumps and logs.
