I found a bunch of this fungus, still in its "baby" stage...

This species is an aggressive saprotrophic fungus hat recycles decaying hardwoods. It's very common in the northeast.

Habitat: Rotting hardwood

"Trichaptum biforme" is a species of poroid fungus in the order Hymenochaetales. It is a saprobe that decomposes hardwood stumps and logs.
