
Poison Champagne Amanita - Amanita crenulata group
Cap: Pale tan; flat with a mushy center; smooth and without many remaining warts.
Gills: white; frequent short gills
Stem: white with chevron-like pattern, especially near apex; enlarged bulb with a ring of champagne coloring
This species is toxic and produces dramatic symptoms, similar to those of Amanita muscaria and Amanita pantherina.
Habitat: Mixed, forest with lots of white pine

Amanita crenulata is a very common species in the northeastern USA, occurring most frequently during autumn.
