What is it?? I have no idea what this is, I dont think it is a leaf gecko but the camouflage is very similar. I took this photo at Ankaranfantsika in Madagascar if that helps Geotagged,Madagascar,Winter Click/tap to enlarge

  1. Wow. It could be a leaf gecko, there are several types and each looks wildly different. Not sure though. Wonderful catch! Posted 12 years ago
  2. Came across this oldie via somebody's photo list, so now having a look at it again. Could it be a caterpillar of a moth perhaps? The tail end (assuming it is on top) somewhat reflects hind legs. Posted 9 years ago
    1. I agree, definitely a caterpillar of some kind, I had a search but at the moment unable to find an exact match. lots of lookalikes in Canada and of course the one close match, taken in the same place on Flikr with no ID!!! I will keep trying but I know how difficult it can be to identify caterpillars. Thanks Ferdy. Posted 9 years ago
      1. Looks like a Lasiocampidae larva (Lappet or Snout moths). Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago
