  1. This is not a Brown Argus - it has an extra black spot in the base of the forewing. It could be either a female Common Blue or another species.

      1. I aways double check everything - bad habit...
        I made comments on the other butterflies that you identified as common blue, the ones of blackdiamond from Turkey. I've tried to identify these butterflies, including this one many times and I gave up eventually. They are so diverse and so similar. Even if you have both sides of the wings well spread, which is usually not the case, it is still difficult to discriminate between them.

        1. Bad, good, it's all how the individual looks into it. And yes, I have come to realize just how difficult it is to identify something such as butterflies when there are so many different species that really only have a few minute physical differences.           1. That's why I posted the links to the lists - in case you would like to review those IDs.
            As I said, I've given up on those blues, which I very seldom do, but I would be happy to double check if you come up with other IDs :)
