Would you/anyone please confirm the ID of this insect, Vegetable grasshopper-Atractomorpha similis Sp or Heteroptera Pentatomoidea (???). Thanks Posted 6 years ago

  So, no, not a Vegetable grasshopper-Atractomorpha similis but Heteroptera, Pentatomidae, Phyllocephalinae and probably some Megarrhamphus sp. but other than that I haven't found a fitting ID yet Posted 6 years ago

    Thanks. Physically looks similar with the one i have posted on 12 November 2018 which has been identified by Lisa Kimmerling as grasshopper-Atractomorpha similis except the colour is different. Appreciate if you look at again n make comparison between those pictures. Thanks Pudding4brains Posted 6 years ago

      Hi Sugian, I'm sorry but they really don't look too similar:
      
      That one is a grasshopper indeed and may very well be what Lisa says it is - I don't know, as I don't do grasshoppers.
      Look at the large hind leg made for jumping, the longer wings and the antennae made of many segments. The bug in your new images doesn't have all that. But it does have a very weirdly shaped head for a true bug :o)
