Common Yellowthroat (Male) - Geothlypis trichas
A small songbird with olive-gray upperparts and a bright yellow chest and throat. Males have a black mask and a thin white line that separates the mask from the top of the head. This male had a female with him. She was nearby gathering food and made frequent trips back to their brush pile where he was waiting. They had made a home in a large brush pile that was in a meadow.

The common yellowthroat is a New World warbler. It is an abundant breeder in North America, ranging from southern Canada to central Mexico.
