      It never got to species-level ID there. I am not sure how I got to Gliophorus psittacinus, but must have read
      "When old, this species gets dry and turns yellowish orange" somewhere. Is this not how they would look when old?

        1. But, I think it looks more like Gliophorus perplexus. Do you still think so? Posted 4 years ago
        2. Could be. It's so difficult since G. perplexus used to be a variety/ssp of G. psittacinus! My gut just says G. perplexus for some reason, but I'm definitely not sure.

          If you want better answers, post it on iNaturalist and tag Alan Rockefeller!
