Omura congrua - male, La Isla Escondida, Colombia

Let's continue our stroll through Colombia's crazy grasshoppers. Here's the leaf-mimicking Omura congrua. This photo shows the male, which is far smaller than the female, and also a lot less colorful. It does have some very fancy eyes:

Here's the much larger and more beautiful female found nearby. Note the beautiful curl of her body, following the contours of the leaf:
