  1. So beautiful! I wonder what is in it...will it survive now that the leaf has fallen off the tree? Posted 6 years ago
    1. Thanks! I was tempted to cut it open, but my son cried that I would kill it. At the time, we had just had a huge storm that had destroyed a ton of flowering plants; we found many leaves with these galls - still on the plant and also on the ground. I am so curious what they are. Posted 6 years ago

    1. It wasn't a tree - I think it might have been Impatiens capensis. We were popping seed pods when I found these galls....There were a bunch of them - all on the underside of leaf veins. I need to start carrying my notebook with me again to take notes! Posted 6 years ago
