
Beech Mushroom - Hypsizygus tessulatus
Caps were 7 cm, broadly convex, and had inrolled margins. It was pale tan and had water spots. Gills were attached to the stem, close, and had frequent short gills. The stems were bald and whitish.
Habitat: Growing in a cluster of two on rotting wood in a mixed forest. It was next to some sugar maple (Acer saccharum) trees that had tap holes.
