Dekay's Brown Snake - Storeria dekayi Small, tan snake with two rows of dark brown spots down its back. This snake was approximately 10-12 cm long.

Habitat: Spotted along the bank of a river in a deciduous forest. We spotted 2 of them (not together). This one showed no fear and let me hold it for several minutes. I was trying to get a shot of it licking the air, but couldn't capture it.
1. Considering how most people freak out over a small spider, you're brave on picking up a snake. Posted 7 days ago
    1. I like to hold snakes and other creatures, as long as they seem willing. Plus, I knew that this snake wasn’t venomous and doubted it’s bite would hurt that much because it was so tiny. But, it was totally calm and just relaxed in my hand :). Posted 7 days ago
