Dekay's Brown Snake - Storeria dekayi
Small, tan snake with two rows of dark brown spots down its back. This snake was approximately 10-12 cm long.
Habitat: Spotted along the bank of a river in a deciduous forest. We spotted 2 of them (not together). This one showed no fear and let me hold it for several minutes. I was trying to get a shot of it licking the air, but couldn't capture it.

"Storeria dekayi", commonly known as De Kay's brown snake, De Kay's snake, and simply the brown snake, is a small non-venomous species of snake in the family Colubridae. The species is native to North America and Central America.
