Coral Fungus - Clavulina sp. (Parasitized by Helminthosphaeria clavariarum) It was a weird, clumping mushroom that was lavender near the base and cream-colored at the tips. Some pieces were more brownish. It looks like it was probably parasitized by Helminthosphaeria clavariarum (thanks morpheme!)

Habitat: Growing in a shady meadow that separates a mixed forest from a coniferous forest.
1. My gut feeling would say it is parasitized but other than gut feeling I have nothing, sorry. Posted 6 years ago
    1. Agreed, thanks for your input! I've never seen a parasitized coral fungus, but it makes sense that this would be one. Posted 6 years ago
  2. It might be a Clavinula parasitized by Helminthosphaeria clavariarum
it doesn't look quite as gray as the specimen here though
