Pholiota

another clump of shaggy caps, very close to the others, but on a different, less rotted log - not sure if this is simply a color variation or a whole different species... reddish brown caps rather than a uniform buff color. I have some suspicions that they are different, as they also have a damp/sticky looking cap and stems that are slightly less scaly. Could be Pholiota aurivella group- but this covers a lot of species... There are a *ton* of Pholiotas listed in my mushroom database - but fewer have photos than do not and many of the descriptions are very similar.
