Just a pretty don't know what :-D Tanjung lampy, Lembeh.<br />
No good luck in the ID Please (Marine Creature Identification) from FB to narrow down the identity of this beauty. It seems to be an encrusting sponge but it could also be an ascidian colony....No idea yet! Geotagged,Indonesia,Lembeh,Spring Click/tap to enlarge Promoted

    1. Me too! I am afraid it will be difficult to find the ID but I will keep trying... Posted 6 years ago
      1. Marta, you can post to a FB Page called ID Please for underwater identifications.
Maybe not the full ID but possible to get the family or what organism it is.

        1. Is it the same one I mention above? because I already did and people could not even come up with ID at the level of sponge or tunicate...it seems to be a tough one> If you know a different site can you pass me the link? Posted 6 years ago
          1. Yes, that's the same forum I was referring to.
Its not likely Ascidians as Ascidians have the 2 holes.

            1. There are colonial tunicates where the members can be very small. Google Botryllus as example: In this case the lawn you observe could be formed by many miniature tunicates. That is why I find a reasonable proposal from some of the FB ID group that it could be a tunicate colony. But my first hunch is encrusting sponge. Posted 6 years ago
  2. It sure is gorgeous! Posted 6 years ago
    1. Thanks, I hope I can get the ID some time in the future..or at least to be able to tell if is a sponge or a tunicate colony :-D Posted 6 years ago
