  1. The gills and stipe point away from Clitocybe nuda as an ID in my opinion. Maybe Christine Young and morpheme can weigh in here? I'm definitely no expert on Australian fungi!

Most gills in C. nuda I have seen are way more crowded and smooth than this. The stipe is usually thicker/stockier with a bulbous base). The base on yours seems almost flimsy? You can compare to other C. nuda specimens here: https://mushroomobserver.org/observer/observation_search?page=3&pattern=clitocybe+nuda

Have you considered the Laccaria genus?

    1. Thanks for stepping in, Lisa. Although I'm not at all a fungi expert, I agree with you that it is unlikely that this is Clitocybe nuda. Sorry @Ernst, removing the ID for now. It's a gorgeous fungi though, hope we can find an ID for it. Posted 6 years ago

    2. Thank you Lisa, I will keep on searching. Also will try to find other specimens and spend more time studying them. Posted 6 years ago
      1. That would be awesome! A spore print might be helpful as well! Posted 6 years ago
