Climbing Dogbane (Thyrsanthella difformis) I'm kind of ashamed to say it, but I didn't even notice this inconspicuous vine that the showy Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) was nectaring on! ''Thyrsanthella difformis'', the climbing dogbane, is a species of flowering plant in the dogbane family. It is an uncommon to locally common deciduous low-growing woody vine native to the southeastern United States, found more often though not exclusively in moist habitats.
