
Red Twin-spot - Xanthorhoe ferrugata
Total length: ~20 mm. Grayish brown forewings with reddish brown basal area and subapical patches. Wide median area is variably blackish or dark crimson. The outer subterminal area is accented with two black spots.
Habitat: Attracted to a light at night in a rural area.

The site kind of sucks to navigate, but if you're obsessed with moths, this might be paradise. Look at the yields they get in the traps, of which so many new to science. Posted 7 years ago
