  1. Cool markings. I've only seen something similar out here once - pretty typical velvet ant, just bright orange.

    How far did you get with BugGuide - It looks like it could be a Timulla sp. but poking through so far, there are many that look similar... I'm not sure what the distinguishing features are. Doh... never mind, you got that far. Reading through some of the comments, it sounds like it's things that aren't listed, like thorax shape, that are giving the experts the answers.
