Hemistropharia albocrenulata
Hemistropharia albocrenulata is the only species in the genus Hemistropharia. It closely resembles Pholiota sp., which I initially thought it was.
It had a beautiful, sticky, tan cap with darker scales and a shaggy margin. The stipe was also very shaggy. The gills leaked red liquid.
Habitat: Growing at the base of an eastern hemlock snag in a mixed, swampy forest.
Similar species: Agaricales
