  1. Seeing this photo, I can now understand how you can easily get confused between a wolf spider and a funnel web spider.

    Here's the situation: Wolf spiders may or may not build tunnels. The one above clearly is a species with a tunnel.
    However, a species building a tunnel does not always make it a funnel weaver. Funnel weavers make a big horizontal sheet web, and then build an additional tunnel. So by looking at the total web, you can see the difference.

    The other way, as explained earlier is eye arrangement: this is the easiest way to determine the family of spiders.
