Family Hydroptilidae - Microcaddisflies

Tiny, hairy, black caddisfly with a slight iridescence and a pale stripe across its forewings. It was about 5-6 mm.

Attracted to a light in a rural area.

Based on what I read, hairy wings are typical for caddisflies. The other finding was that literature on them online is close to non-existing. Very beautiful one though! Posted 7 years ago
