Small Minnow Mayfly - Baetis sp. This mayfly was TINY! It was only about 5 mm long. This is the male imago, which can be determined by the tiny to absent hind wings and the two-part &quot;muffin&quot; eyes.<br /> <br /> It was swaying its caudal filaments back and forth.       I was so excited! I was out checking for moths and saw these tiny "flies". I was shocked when I realized they were mayflies. I have never seen such small ones before. The tail and the eyes were so cool! Posted 7 years ago
