      I found another today, under the tarp with construction supplies. It was a dark brown to black color! Hopefully, I got some good shots. He/she wasn't happy to see me and hopped away very quickly (to go hide again). Posted 7 years ago

          Oh, and have you heard about the Anaxyrus fowleri x Anaxyrus americanus hybrids? I know they DO exist, and I was wondering if this might actually be one as one of the spots on its back has 3 warts within. Or is it common for A. americanus to have the occasional spot with 3 warts? The American toad

The American toad is a common species of toad found throughout the eastern United States and Canada. It is divided into three subspecies—the eastern American toad, the dwarf American toad, and the rare Hudson Bay toad.
