White pop-up fungus, Heesch, Netherlands I found a single one in the morning, when I checked again at night when working on the moths in my light trap, I noticed a whole cluster of them had popped up. They're growing on the lawn in our back yard, about 3-5cm in height. Sorry, I did not make other shots that may help in identification, was kind of preoccupied. 2. Might be in the genus Panaeolus or a close relative. Black gills and dark (purple-black or brown) smooth spores with a small opening near the top are key features. Should add that Conocybe is another possibility. Posted 7 years ago, modified 7 years ago
    1. Thank you Gary. When (if) they return, I'll have a better look at them. This was in the pitch black night on bare feet in wet grass and I was on a mission to capture moths lol. Posted 7 years ago
