Katydid Nymph Katydid nymph, possibly Caedicia simplex, approx&#039; 15 mm body length. The air at dusk and in to the lovely warm evenings here is filled with the sound of these insects. Together with cicadas, truly the sound of summer. Nymphs have incredibly beautiful markings and also can take on the colour of what they have been eating. Fully grown, they are all green and resemble leaves. <br />
