Golden Pheasant, Zie-Zoo, Netherlands
This bird is so common in zoos, farms and other places of domestication that its appearance has been normalized, similar to the peacock. Still if you look with fresh eyes at this bird, I cannot help but see one of the most spectacular birds there is.
Anyway, earlier we established that this pheasant found in the same zoo....
...is likely a cross with a Golden Pheasant. Don't wont to throw around any wild accusations here, but still, makes you think.
The Golden Pheasant or "Chinese Pheasant", is a gamebird of the order Galliformes and the family Phasianidae. It is native to forests in mountainous areas of western China but feral populations have been established in the United Kingdom and elsewhere.
