      1. So true! This one reminded me of a recent one by Christine:

        Common Sawfly Larva - Periclista sp. The body was pale green/translucent and it had split, black spines. It was feeding on oak in a deciduous forest.<br />

Pareophora pruni (Linnaeus, 1758) is a Sawfly (Symphyta, Tenthredinidae) known from large parts of Europe.
The larvae develop on Prunus and carry split thorns on their body, quite similar to the larvae of some other sawflies such as Periclista spp.
