Longjawed Orbweaver - Tetragnatha sp.

This beautiful spider was sitting on some vegetation that was sandwiched between a hiking trail and a stream in a deciduous forest. When disturbed, they can stretch their front legs forward and their back legs behind.

  Thanks :). Wish I had gotten the abdomen in focus as that would have helped in getting a species ID. This little guy didn't like me though and was on high alert, so I only snapped a few pics before moving on and leaving him alone. Posted 7 years ago
