Whitman's Jumping Spider (Phidippus whitmani)
Early instar Salticid on leaf litter in a valley in a dense mixed hardwood/coniferous forest in NW Georgia (Gordon County), US. May 19, 2018.
This particular species of jumping spider exhibits Batesian mimicry. It effectively mimics mutillid wasps (commonly known as "red velvet ants"). They are often found in similar habitats as the mutillids, so this provides them with some protections from predators.
