  1. I found this:
    http://lichenportal.org/portal/checklists/dynamicmap.php?interface=key

It has a very clunky interface, but I replicated the geotag you shared in JD on to that map somwhat (placed it near "Sharon"), and gave it a 10km radius. After clicking "Build checklist", it returned a checklist of 30 lichen species, which seems manageable.

    1. Oh wow, thanks for sharing the link...I had no idea I could narrow down my search that way. I wonder if the green on this lichen is a secondary fungus that's growing on it...Or, maybe it's the fungal component of the lichen. Posted 7 years ago
      1. I have no idea, I barely even understand lichens. One I found in Colombia is described as to containing hundreds of individual species, but I don't even comprehend what that means. Posted 7 years ago
        1. Wow! Sounds like a macrolichen. With so many species in one lichen, it’s almost like it is it’s own little ecosystem. Posted 7 years ago
