It's a Mystery I don&#039;t know what this and haven&#039;t been able to get it identified. It could be Exidia sp. fungus, or a slime mold, or scat? Barf? <br />

It's a Mystery

I don't know what this and haven't been able to get it identified. It could be Exidia sp. fungus, or a slime mold, or scat? Barf?

I found it on the cut surface of a stump along a nature trail in a swampy forest.

    1. Of course :). It didn't have a distinct odor. It looks too perfect to be scat, so I think either fungus or slime mold. Wish I had taken a sample! Posted 7 years ago
