An article I came across while researching the possible ID, shows similar sighting at equatorial Indian Ocean (Maldives) indicating the Blue-pigmented Copepods of the species Pontella valida :<br />

      It was quite an interesting encounter as usually, we get the other regular coloured planktons/copepods.
      This could be a similar situation to the article I included.
